Discomfort Creative Agency was approached by Startimes and FaceTV Uganda to plan and brand a concert for Wizkid, a difficult task, as the artist previously canceled his appearance in 2016. After extensive work and planning, Wizkid’s concert was a huge success. Over 50,000 people came to the show, so many that there was a massive traffic jam from 3 pm until 1 am after the show finished. The concert grossed 1 billion Ugandan shillings (roughly $300,000 USD) and secured 100,000 new subscribers for Startimes, our client. In other words, we grew the number Startimes subscription base of 10 million customers by 1% overnight.
